Rien ne va plus! Morale is low over the daisies, it's really true to say! He is 4 ° C, snow melts before our eyes, you can even see the grass in places, instead of the late White Carpet. The sky is gray instead of snowing, raining ... There's more winter ...
Last month, Mr. Jam House strolled down Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles ... Because every time he finds himself under the palm trees in winter here in Minnesota, we record the lowest temperatures of the year: - 30 ° C even at noon that week. A beautiful record! As I bitched when I saw the thermometer rose at the same time as the plane approached Mr. Minneapolis! I would have liked to share the experience ... On the other hand, I could boast of having flirted with the ice, me ;-)
But this morning it was already 2 ° C when I wake up. Little Jam House went to school T-shirt under his jacket and Miss Jam House has bravely put on its Converse brand new ... If this continues, I'm sure they'll beg me to arrange the parkas! Thus in the region. My children have become true Vikings ...

Fortunately Forecasts predict that the return of winter with subzero temperatures and bright sunshine evoking even more spice to the air! Especially since we have not yet finished we swim in frozen lakes!

Cinnamon Rolls according to the recipe of Mary S. The cinnamon rolls
are a specialty in North America. They are "rolled" brioche flavored with cinnamon and sweetened with brown sugar. You can add raisins or nuts. As if they were not tasty enough like that, they are drowning under a vanilla icing, made from icing sugar and milk or cream.
Serve for breakfast, brunch or snack.
Ingredients:
For rolls:
- 3 teaspoon dried yeast
- 1 / 4 cup warm water (60 ml)
-
100-120 g butter - 1 / 3 cup sugar (50 g)
- 1 and 1 / 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk (240 ml)
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 4 cups flour, or 560 g, and a little more if need
-
brown sugar or brown sugar - cinnamon
- raisins
For the glaze (reduce this amount by half or quarter, if desired )
- 2 cups of sugar, 200 g
- about 3 tbsp of milk
- 1
butter - 1 / 2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
Method:
Pour the yeast in the glass containing lukewarm water, and whisk until the yeast is activated, approximately 10 minutes (bubbles appear).
Heat the milk until simmering. Add the butter cut into pieces Add sugar and salt. Let cool while the butter melts.
When milk is no longer hot, add yeast and beaten egg (do not be too hasty, if milk is too hot at this stage, it kills the yeast!).
Add 4 cups flour, one at a time (140 grams at a time) and mix until dough is firm enough to be manipulated.
Flour a work surface and knead the dough until it is fully flexible and elastic. Add a little flour at a time if needed. Transfer to a lightly oiled container, cover with plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in volume. It may take about 1 hour and a half, and varies depending on the room temperature.
Lightly flour a work surface. Press the dough into the bowl to remove bubbles of air, then lowered into a rectangle or too thin nor too thick.
Melt 1 and 1 / 2 tbsp butter, spread it with brush on the rectangle. Sprinkle with brown sugar (again, neither too much nor too little), and cinnamon to taste. Finally, add some raisins. Roll dough into a roll, lengthwise. Cut lengths of 1 1 / 2 inch to 2 inches or 4-5 cm. Ask them standing in a buttered dish. It may be that you need 2 dishes, depending on the size of the molds. The idea is to have enough rolls close to each other, but not touch, or touch the edges of the mold. Let
push until rolls fill the pan well.
Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 F, 175 C. Cover loosely with foil if browning too quickly rolls. Careful not to cook more than needed.
Turn rolls right away on a rack, then place on a plate.
Prepare the glaze: Whisk all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and flowing. Add a little milk if mixture is too thick, or rather the icing sugar until you get the right consistency. Pour over rolls while still warm.
Enjoy!
Cinnamon Rolls 100% wholemeal flour
They are only slightly less swollen, but remain soft and airy. Enjoy those too!
